One system in place of the spreadsheets around your books
Most companies arrive at Business Central the same way. The accounting package still produces a trial balance. But stock lives in one spreadsheet and orders in another, and every month-end starts with somebody reconciling the two. You learn the margin a month late. And the person who understands the spreadsheets is the one nobody can spare.
Business Central replaces that patchwork with one database. A sales order reserves stock, the shipment posts the cost of goods, and the invoice posts revenue. The same transaction updates the general ledger, not a journal somebody keys in later. Finance stops being the department that finds out what happened; it becomes the department that can see it happening.
Because it is a Microsoft product, it sits naturally beside the tools your team already uses. Quotes and invoices go out from Outlook, and lists open in Excel and post back. Approvals arrive in Teams, and Power BI reads the same data without an export.

What Dynamics 365 Business Central covers
Two editions, Essentials and Premium. Essentials runs finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, warehousing and projects; Premium adds manufacturing and service management. Our Dynamics 365 Business Central consultants help you pick the right one.
Finance and accounting
General ledger, dimensions, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, budgets, cash flow forecasts and multi-currency. Every posting has an audit trail.
Sales and purchasing
Quotes, orders, returns, price lists and discounts on the sales side. Requisitions, purchase orders, receipts and vendor payments on the other.
Inventory and warehouse
Item tracking by lot or serial number, multiple locations, bins, transfer orders and cycle counts. Costing methods run from FIFO to standard cost.
Projects and jobs
Budgets, time and expense capture, work in progress, and invoicing by milestone or time and materials. Project profit shows in real time.
Manufacturing (Premium)
Bills of materials, routings, production orders, capacity planning and material requirements planning for make-to-stock or make-to-order.
Multi-company
Several legal entities in one tenant, intercompany postings between them and consolidated reporting across currencies.
Service management (Premium)
Service orders, service contracts and installed service items with warranty and response times. It suits companies that repair or maintain what they sell.
Reporting and analytics in Dynamics 365 Business Central
Financial reports, Excel layouts, analysis mode on list pages and Power BI apps, all reading the same posted data.
How our Business Central consultants take you to go-live
- 1
Readiness assessment
A two-hour workshop and a written report. It says whether Business Central fits, which edition and how many licenses you need. It also gives an indicative budget and timeline you can take to your board.
- 2
Scope and fixed price
Process workshops by department turn into a written fit-gap and a statement of work. The price in it is the price you pay. We quote changes separately and never bill them silently.
- 3
Configuration and data with Business Central consultants
We design the chart of accounts and dimensions around your reports. Then come setup, trial data migrations and variance reports you sign before cut-over.
- 4
Testing and training
Your people run real scenarios in a sandbox and sign off user acceptance testing. They learn the system by role rather than by module.
- 5
Go-live and hypercare with your Business Central consultant
A planned cut-over with your consultant on call. Then support through the first month-end close, plus an optional monthly support block.

Questions Dynamics 365 Business Central consultants hear most
Is Business Central cloud only?
Microsoft runs it as a cloud service, and we recommend that for almost everyone. Microsoft handles updates, backups and security for you. An on-premises version still exists for companies with a specific reason to host it themselves.
How long does an implementation take?
For a single company running finance, sales, purchasing and inventory, a typical rollout runs ten to fourteen weeks. Manufacturing, several legal entities or heavy integration add time. The readiness assessment gives you a realistic figure for your case.
Can we move our history across?
Yes. Open balances, customers, vendors and items always move. How much transaction history to bring is a decision we make with you. Often two or three years of summarized history is enough, and the old system stays read-only for audits.
Do we need a partner at all?
In practice, yes. Microsoft sells Business Central through partners. The setup decisions in the first weeks shape every report you will run afterwards. That is especially true of the chart of accounts, dimensions and costing method. This is the part worth paying a specialist for.
