The partner checklist, with our answers
What a small senior practice does well
We are a focused practice, a division of Sataware Technologies, working from one office in Phoenix. That size shapes how we operate. You get direct access to the people making design decisions, and questions are answered by someone who already knows your setup instead of a ticket queue that starts from zero.
Most work runs remotely through video workshops and screen sharing, scheduled to your time zone. We travel when it genuinely changes the outcome, such as walking a warehouse floor before designing bin locations or training a room of users together.
We are careful about what we claim. You will not find invented client logos or statistics on this site. When you are seriously evaluating us, we share references during the sales conversation so you can speak to them directly.
Where we fit, and where we do not
Small and mid-sized US companies
Businesses moving to Business Central or extending a Dynamics 365 setup who want senior attention throughout.
- βOutgrowing QuickBooks, Sage or an older Dynamics product
- βFinance-led projects with a controller or CFO as sponsor
- βTeams that want to understand their system, not just receive it
When another firm suits you better
We would rather say so early than take on work we are not the best choice for.
- βGlobal rollouts needing large teams on site in many countries at once
- βBuyers who require a specific Microsoft partner designation we have not stated
- βProjects where the brief is to build a heavily custom system on top of the ERP
Questions to ask every partner you shortlist
- βWill the people in the sales meetings be the ones configuring our system?
- βCan we see a sample written scope and change request before signing?
- βHow do you run trial data loads, and who signs off the reconciliation?
- βWhich of our requirements would you solve with standard features, and which need custom code?
- βWhat exactly happens during our first month end on the new system?
- βCan we speak to a client whose project is similar in size to ours?
Questions about choosing us
How do we verify a Microsoft partner's credentials?
Check Microsoft's own partner directory rather than a logo on a website. The directory shows which organizations are listed and the solution areas they are recognized for. Pair that with reference calls, because a listing tells you nothing about how a firm treats its clients once the contract is signed. Our guide to choosing a Business Central partner covers this in more detail.
Is a smaller partner a risk?
It can be, and you should ask about it directly. The fair questions are who covers if a consultant is unavailable, how your configuration is documented, and whether you could hand the system to someone else if you needed to. We document design decisions and configuration so your system never lives only in one person's head. A larger firm has more bench, but you may see less of its senior people.
Do you only work with Business Central?
Business Central is our core, and we also work across Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, the Power Platform and Power BI. For large enterprise finance and supply chain projects, we will tell you honestly whether our involvement makes sense or whether a bigger team is needed.
What if we already have a partner and are unhappy?
We can give a second opinion or take over. The first step is a candid look at where your project stands, what is working and what is not. Sometimes the fix is a reset of scope with your current partner, and we will say so if that is the better route.
Can you give us a price to compare against other bids?
Yes, once we understand the work. We quote against a written scope after discovery, which makes comparison fairer because you can see exactly what each price includes. Be wary of any bid that is much lower without a matching level of detail about what is in and out.
