Can Business Central handle Florida county surtax?
Yes. Each county becomes a tax jurisdiction of its own. Tax areas are picked by delivery address. For firms that ship into many counties, a tax engine such as Avalara keeps rates up to date on its own. Your tax advisor should confirm the surtax cap on large single items. That cap is one more reason some Florida firms pick an engine over manual tables.
Our Panhandle branch is on Central Time. Is that a problem?
Not for the system. It stores entries in UTC and shows each user their own time. It matters more for planning. So we book workshops at times that suit both the Eastern and Central sides of the firm. We also plan cutover so every branch is closed when data moves.
Is cloud Business Central a good idea for hurricane risk?
For most Florida firms it is a real plus. The system runs in Microsoft's data centers, so a closed office does not mean closed books. Staff can work from anywhere with a web link. There is no server closet to guard from a storm. You still need a plan for internet and printing at your own sites. We cover that in the design, such as backup internet at the warehouse.
